COLONIAL SHOE MOLDING 1 3/4″ X 3/8″ X 12′ – MDF SHOE MOULDING

Categories: ,

Colonial shoe molding runs along the bottom of a baseboard, bridging the point where the trim meets the floor surface. Its Colonial profile features a gentle curve that gives the base trim a shaped edge, distinct from quarter round or flat base shoe options that leave a plainer finish at floor level.

When considering shoe molding styles, the Colonial profile is a natural fit for rooms where the door casings, baseboards, or window trim already carry a traditional profile. It reinforces the existing trim rather than introducing a shape that competes with what is already on the wall.

MDF material used for this colonial shoe molding cuts to a clean edge, accepts primer and paint without the grain interference common in solid wood, and holds its dimension in standard interior conditions. With a painted finish, MDF provides a smooth, even surface that stands up to multiple coats.

Functionally, this shoe trim molding addresses the gap that flooring installations leave between the bottom of the baseboard and the floor. That gap is intentional, as it accommodates movement in the floor, and the shoe molding sits against it without being fastened to the floor itself. Across shoe molding styles, the Colonial profile works best alongside baseboards and casings cut from the same profile family.

This colonial shoe molding is available at Bella Flooring Plus, a flooring store in Scarborough stocking trim and moulding for residential and contractor projects. Each length is 12 feet and sold per piece.
