Drywall Furring Channel

Drywall furring channel is a versatile “hat shaped” section with many applications. Most commonly, furring is used to provide a means to connect your finished wall product to the structure behind it. Furring is often used over concrete surfaces as a means of attaching drywall. It is also used in applications such as metal siding where it is attached horizontally to the structure and then acts as a base for screw fastening the siding. Furring is also the preferred method of constructing a drywall ceiling where it is connected perpendicularly to bridging channels with the drywall subsequently screwed to the furring.
